Luís Gonzaga Ferreira da Silva

Luís Gonzaga Ferreira da Silva SJ ( born April 2, 1923 in Rebordões; † August 7, 2013 in Angonia district, Mozambique ) was Bishop of Lichinga.

Life

Luís Gonzaga Ferreira da Silva joined the Congregation of the Jesuits and received on 11 July 1953, the ordination. He was a missionary in Angonia district in the province of Tete, Mozambique.

Pope Paul VI. appointed him on 10 November 1972 concerning the Bishop of Vila Cabral in the north of Mozambique. The Apostolic Nuncio to Portugal Giuseppe Maria Sensi consecrated him bishop on 17 December 1972; Were co-consecrators Francisco Nunes Teixeira, Bishop of Quelimane, and Augusto César Alves Ferreira da Silva CM, Bishop of Tete.
