Luís Novo

Luís Novo ( Luís Azevedo da Silva Novo; * May 29, 1970 in Oliveira do Bairro ) is a former Portuguese marathon runner.

In 1998, he came at the World Half Marathon Championships in Uster ranked 16th in the same year he qualified with a second place at the Reims Marathon for the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in 1999 in Seville, where he finished fourth.

In 2000, he was the Rotterdam Marathon in 13th place and at the Olympic Games in Sydney, ranked 50th

In 2001 he won the Vienna City Marathon, but had to retire at the World Championships in Edmonton after a good 30 kilometers. The following year, he was ninth at the Beppu - Oita Marathon. After a seventh place at the Berlin Marathon in 2004 he was nominated for the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki, where he broke in on the 24th Place.

After missing it past 2006 on a 22 place at the Hamburg Marathon and a 19th place at the Berlin Marathon and did not reach the target at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg, he finished his career in 2007.

Luís Novo is 1.73 meters tall and weighs 61 kg. He completed a sports studies at the University of Porto. Most recently, he was trained by João Campos and starts for the Atlético Clube Maia.
