Luxembourg at the Olympics

The Luxembourg Olympic Committee C.O.S.L. was recorded in 1912 by the International Olympic Committee.

Of medals won

Luxembourg athletes take already since 1900 in the Olympic games. It was four athletes win five Olympic medals ( two gold, three silver ).

Michel Théato, 1900 Olympic gold medalist in the marathon, appeared a long time in the result lists as a Frenchman. It was not until the late 20th century, it was discovered that he actually came from Luxembourg. Officially, his victory is still out in the French medal, although repeatedly voices are raised in Luxembourg, demanding that his victory must be attributed to the Luxembourg medal table.

In addition to the Olympic competitions, there was also until 1948 the Olympic art competitions in which two artists Luxembourg won three medals ( two gold, one silver).
