Lužice (Prachatice District)

Lusatia ( German Luschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It lies around 20 kilometers north- west of the center of České Budějovice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Lusatia is located north of Blanský on a plateau on the right side of the creek Netolický. East of the village stems from the Lužický creek.

Neighboring towns are Netolice in the north, Hlodačky in the northeast, Babice in the east, in the southeast Chvalovice, Dolni Chrášťany in the south, Hrbov in the southwest, and Ovčín Grejnarov in the west and Peklo in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was carried out in 1210 under the name Hoid. Later the village was also known as Merica.
