Mädchen Amick

Mädchen Amick ( born December 12, 1970 in Sparks, Nevada ) is an American actress. Your first name comes from its German -born mother Judy, who did not want a common American first names.

Life

As Amick was two and a half years old, her parents Judy and Bill were divorced. A short time later, her mother married a musician. At the age of three years Amick learned under the guidance of her stepfather, to play the piano. Later, other instruments such as bass, violin and guitar followed.

During her school years matured in her the decision to become an actress and so she took acting classes at the Robert McQueen High School in Reno part. Next, she learned various dance styles including tap dance, ballet, jazz dance and modern dance.

1987 Amick went at the age of 16 years to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. She first worked as a model and dancer in several music videos of Rick Astley or Julio Iglesias. 1989 was followed by first appearances in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and Baywatch - The Baywatch.

Larger gained fame Amick then from 1989 to 1990 through her recurring role in David Lynch's television series Twin Peaks, in which she plays the waitress Shelly Johnson, who is oppressed and abused by her husband Leo.

In the eleventh season (2004-2005) of the successful hospital drama ER - Emergency Room she played as a recurring supporting actress a social worker; in the short-lived sitcom Freddie, she played from 2005 to 2006 Allison, the sister of the title character Freddie. In the second season of the series Californication (2008-2009), she played the role of Janie Jones in four episodes. In 2008, she starred in four episodes of the television series Gossip Girl the role of Duchess Catherine Beaton. In 2010 she had several appearances in the series Damages - the power and CSI: NY. Private life

1990 Amick met the musician and songwriter David Alexis, whom she married two years later. The couple now lives with his two children in Los Angeles.
