Madeleine M. Kunin

Madeleine Kunin May ( born September 28, 1933, Zurich, Switzerland ) is a former U.S. politician. She was from 1985 to 1991 Governor of the State of Vermont.

Early years and political rise

Madeleine Kunin was born into a Jewish family. With her ​​widowed mother, she emigrated in 1940 to the United States. She attended the University of Massachusetts until 1956.
