Magdalena Iljans
Anna Magdalena Iljans ( born September 26, 1969 in Kungsängen as Anna Magdalena Jonsson ) is a former Swedish freestyle skier. She was dedicated to the discipline of ski cross. Her husband Eric Iljans operating the same sport.
Biography
Iljans ' first success as Skicrosserin 2001 was winning the silver medal at the Winter X Games. In the following years she was at this event again twice each second and third, but could never win. Her debut in the Freestyle World Cup they had on 30 November 2002 in Tignes, where she won the first World Cup ski cross race in history. On 18 January 2003, the second World Cup victory followed in Laax, in the discipline rating they just going down to the Frenchwoman Valentine Scuotto.
In the winter of 2003/ 04 stood Iljans four more times on the podium, one of which as the winner. Two podiums, including a win, were added in the World Cup season 2004/ 05. At the 2005 World Championships in Ruka, she had to in the final only the Austrian Karin Huttary admit defeat and won the silver medal. In the World Cup season 2005/ 06 resulted in two wins and a third place in the winter of 2006 /07, each a victory and a second place.
For more World Cup podiums could Iljans subsequently not win, even though they repeatedly classified among the top ten. She qualified for the Olympic Winter Games 2010. The Olympic race at Cypress Mountain, she finished in 10th position, immediately after she ended her sports career.
