Mahouš

Mahouš ( German Mahausch ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located four kilometers east of Netolice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Mahouš is located north of Blanský on the edge of the České Budějovice Basin. To the north of the Na Štuntpíru rises (443 m), northeast of the Na hůrkách (419 m) ​​and west of the Mužský (502 m). To the east extends a pond area, the largest of the local ponds is the Vlhavský fishpond. On Velky Karasín there is a nature reserve. At the southeast end of the village there is the pond Dvořák.

Neighboring towns are Hláska, Triumf and Hlavatce in the north, Sedlec and Plástovice in the northeast, Vlhlavy and Malé Chrášťany in the east, Sucha, Picina, Břehov, Tupesy and Němčice the southeast, Sedlovice, Zvěřetice and Babice in the south, Lusatia and Hlodačky the southwest, Netolice in the west and Olšovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the company founded in the wake of colonization activities of the monastery village of Golden Crown took place in 1300. Later the village was connected to the rule Netolice. With the application of the fish pond fishpond Vlhlavský 1384 parts of the fields of Mahouš were flooded. 1723 Mahouš the newly formed parish Němčice was slammed. During the devastating fire in 1784 burned down 36. In 1835 Mahausch consisted of 39 houses with 312 Czech-speaking inhabitants. The village belonged to the south west monolayer Hlodačka. Parish and school location was Němčice. Until the mid- 19th century, the village of Prince Schwarzenberg associated Allodialherrschaft Nettolitz remained submissive.

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Mahouš / Mahausch with the district Němčice and the monolayer Hlodačka 1850 a municipality in the district team Prachatice / Prachatitz. In the year 1878, Němčice broke loose from Mahouš and formed its own community. After the Munich Agreement and the resulting separation of the district Prachatitz Mahouš remained in 1938 at the " Resttschechei " and was added to the District Pisek. 1948, the community was assigned to the newly formed Okres Vodňany. After its cancellation in 1960 Mahouš assigned to the Okres Prachatice and incorporated to Mahouš. In 1976, the formation of the greater community Němčice with the incorporations of Babice, Chvalovice and Mahouš. After a referendum in 1992 Mahouš sparked off again and has since formed a separate municipality. Mahouš in 1995 declared a conservation area of folk architecture.
