Geography
Geographical Location
Main Stockhausen is one of 13 cities and municipalities in Offenbach district and lies in the southern part of Hesse directly on the border of the Free State of Bavaria. The municipality is located on the eastern edge of the Rhein -Main area right on Main and southeast of the city of Frankfurt am Main.

Neighboring communities and circles
Mainhausen bordered on the west and north on the town Blessed city, on the east by the municipalities of Karlstejn, Kleinostheim and stock am Main (all three district of Aschaffenburg ) and in the south on the town of Babenhausen (Darmstadt- Dieburg ).

Mainhausen consists of the towns and districts Mainflingen in the Northeast and Zellhausen in the southwest.
History
The history of the individual districts is represented in the district articles.
In the Middle Ages was near the place Mainflingen Hausen ( Husen ) which is mentioned around 1357 as imperial knights Royal fief of Hanau. The "houses the Castle" is an old tower hill from the 10th or 11th century, with unknown builders.
The community Mainhausen created in the course of municipal reform in Hesse by law on 1 January 1977 by the merger of the formerly independent communities and districts today Mainflingen and Zellhausen. Local districts were formed in the town of Main Hausen.

Mayor
In the last mayoral election, 2009, Ruth sat dissertation (SPD ) by 66.9 % of all votes. The turnout was 77.89 %. The next election is in rotation in 2015.
Twinning
Mainhausen maintains partnerships with the community Pöls in Austria and with the community Schwerstedt ( at Straußfurt ) in the district Sömmerda in Thuringia.
Traffic
The Odenwald (RB 64/RE 64) makes the Main Hausener district Zellhausen station on the journey towards Hanau, Frankfurt and wholesale Umstadt - Wiebelsbach (with connection to Erbach and Eberbach ).
