Manny Ayulo

Manuel Ayulo ( born October 20, 1921 in Burbank ( Los Angeles County ), California, † May 16, 1955 in Indianapolis, Indiana) was an American race car driver.

Career

In addition to a successful career as a Midget Car driver, Manuel started Ayulo 1948-1955 in 44 races for AAA National Series. In 1954, he won two races at Darlington and at the Milwaukee Mile. In the championship he won second place.

In the 500 miles of Indianapolis Ayulo was four times at the start. 1949 in a Bromme - Offenhauser and 1953 in a Kuzma - Offenhauser he fell respectively from a technical defect, 1952, he finished in a Lesovsky - Offenhauser 20th place in 1954 in a Kurtis Kraft, he was ranked 13th, his greatest success he celebrated but in 1951 - a race to which he was not originally qualified, when he took over the Kurtis Kraft by Jack McGrath to half of the race and this contributed to the third place.
