Marco Hausiku

Marco Mukaso Hausiku ( born November 25, 1953 in Kapako, Kavango, South West Africa, now Namibia ) is a Namibian SWAPO.

Since 1977 Marco Hausiku is an active member of SWAPO in Namibia since 1990 and has held several ministerial posts. From May 2004 to March 2010 was Hausiku Foreign Minister of Namibia, since he is Deputy Prime Minister.


Hausiku attended the Roman Catholic mission school Bunya 1961 to 1966 before moving to secondary school in Rundu. In 1971 and 1972 he was doing a training for primary school teachers in Dobra. Hausiku 1973-1974 took his degree after. He then studied for a year at the University of Fort Hare in South Africa, art and law.

Marco Hausiku was founder and first president of the Union of Namibian teachers.
