Margaret Okayo

Margaret Okayo (* May 30, 1976 in Masaba, Kisii ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner.

She grew up with nine siblings. In 1997, the petite runner (1.50 m, 39 kg) was discovered by her future manager Gabriele Rosa, who convinced them to go to Italy and to deny competitions there.

Her successes include numerous victories and course records at major marathons and other road races. In 2004, she had just as Paula Radcliffe and Lidia Simon at Marathon heat of the Olympic Games in Athens to retire early.
