Maria Luís Albuquerque

Maria Luís Albuquerque ( born September 16, 1967 in Braga, Portugal) is a Portuguese economist and university professor and was appointed July 2, 2013 appointed as Finance Minister of the country. Maria Luís Albuquerque studied at the University Lusíada to 1991, reaching a master's degree in monetary economics and public finance at the Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão of the Technical University of Lisbon in 1997.

She began her professional career as a high official in the Portuguese Minister of Finance between 1996 and 1999, worked in the office for studies and economic forecasts between 1999 and 2001 and was a consultant of the State Secretary of Finance in 2001. From 2001 to 2007 headed as director, the finance department of the State railway undertaking Refer and led the Center for emissions, Markets and Management at the Instituto de Gestão da Tesouraria e do Crédito Público between 2007 and 2011. between 2011 and July 2013 was Maria Luís Albuquerque First Secretary for the Treasury and Finance and Secretary of the Treasury.

She taught at the University Lusíada, Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão, and the offshoot of the Universidade Moderna in Setúbal between 1991 and 2006.
