Maria Nordman

Maria Nordman ( born June 22, 1943 in Görlitz ) is a German - American sculptor and conceptual artist.

Life and work

Nordman was born in Germany, grew up in France and graduated in 1967 her studies in music, art, sculpture and film at the University of California at Los Angeles from. She lives in Santa Monica, California.

From 1967 to 1969 created Nordman film Environments and laser projections. Since 1970, she designed places with minimal resources ( such as sunlight, color, air, water and sound) to reach the complex aesthetic effects. The man becomes a part of these rooms.

" It brings together the elements of light, air, earth and water to the city, creating places in public space, understands her work as offers. That which then arises, according Nordman is an " attention field ." People need to experience the forces of nature spiritually here. "

Nordman years working on the concept of conjunctive New City.
