Maria Theresa of Austria (1816–1867)

Maria Theresia Isabella, Archduchess of Austria, ( born July 31, 1816 in Vienna, Austria, † August 8, 1867 in Albano Laziale, Italy) was Queen of the Two Sicilies by marriage.

Life

Maria Theresa Isabella was the daughter of Archduke Charles of Austria -Teschen and Princess Henrietta of Nassau -Weilburg.

She grew up as the oldest of six siblings on the Weilburg in Baden (Lower Austria ) on. When her mother died in 1829, it took over 13 -year-old whose role than before. From 1834 to 1835 she was a 18 -year-old two years abbess of the Teresian Women pin in Prague.

20 -year-old married Maria Theresa on January 27, 1837 in Naples, the 27 -year-old widowed Ferdinand II of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies, son of Francis I of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies and Maria Isabel de Borbón, Infanta of Spain.

1859, the 12 mother- widow, and her step- son Francis II of Naples, Sicily was joined to the government. 1860 had to flee the royal family to Rome. She died on August 8, 1867 at the age of 51 years in Albano Laziale near Rome.
