Marian Rada

Marian Rada ( born May 14, 1960 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football player and current coach. In his playing career he played 189 games in Divizia A, the highest Romanian football league.

Career as a player

The career of Rada began at Autobuzul Bucharest, where he came in 1981 to the squad for the first team, which played into the Divizia B. In 1983 he undertook the local rivals Rapid Bucharest. There he quickly established himself as a regular force. The 1983/84 season joined the newly promoted from the league, the following two seasons, he landed in the middle of the Divizia A. After three years he moved to Universitatea Craiova in the Liga, which starred the UEFA Cup places. In the 1986/87 season he reached with his new team to finish fifth and first played in the European Cup, where he reached the second round with his team after a victory against Galatasaray Istanbul and there was eliminated by eventual finalists Dundee United.

National

Rada played two inserts for the Romanian national team. In March 1986, the then national coach Mircea Lucescu appointed him in his squad for international duty in Iraq. Career as a coach

After the end of his active career Rada worked in various capacities for his former club Rapid Bucharest. He had several times to help out as interim coach. In the season 2007/ 08 he jumped in March 2008 for the retired Mircea Rednic and led the team in the UEFA Cup, before he stepped back into second place.
