Career
Singles
Copil began in 2005 to gain their first experiences on the Futures Tour. In August 2007 he won his first Futures tournament in his home country when he in the final 6-3, 6-4 beating Argentina's Martín Alund. His first Challenger tournament he played in September 2007 in Braşov, where he however failed in the first round against compatriot Adrian Ungur. A week later, he competed in the qualifying for the ATP tournament in Bucharest, but retired on lap 1 from.
In 2008 he managed to progress to the second qualifying round of the ATP tournament in Halle, right after he played the qualification in 's- Hertogenbosch, failed there as well as in round 1 In August of the same year Copil was his second Futures tournament in his home country win.
On September 18, 2009, he made his debut for the Romanian Davis Cup team. On hard court he benefited with the score at 6-4 by the task of his Swedish opponent Andreas Vinciguerra. In the subsequent ATP tournament in Bucharest Copil played his first match in the main round of a major tournament, he defeated Victor Crivoi 6-3, 6-2, lost in the second round but Rubén Ramírez Hidalgo 3-6, 7-6, 4 6 In November 2009, he played his third ATP match in Medellin against Martín Alund after he had fought his way through qualifying. Against the Argentines he lost 4:6, 4:6.
In early 2010 Copil won his third Futures tournament in Guatemala. In May of that year he made as a qualifier his first finals at Challenger level in Cremona, where he defeated Denis Gremelmayr 4:6, 5:7. In Bucharest 2010 Copil played his last match so far on ATP levels against Simone Vagnozzi that 6:7, 4:6 he lost. In Kazan, the Romanian finally managed his first tournament victory on Challenger level against Andreas Beck. In May, he played his first Grand Slam at the French Open in Paris, but there he only reached the second qualifying round.
Doubles
In double Copil won his first Futures tournament at the side of Ilie Giurgiu - Aurelian in August 2008 in Romania. In early 2009 was followed by the second tournament victory together with Petru -Alexandru Luncanu in Germany. On 6 March 2009, he joined together with Horia Tecau in the Davis Cup against Marat Safin and Dmitry Tursunov on. The duo defeated the favored Russians 4:6, 6:7, 7:6, 7:6, 6:4. In May, the third Future titles followed in Romania with his partner Petru -Alexandru Luncanu. There were a few finals before was retracted in August, the fourth title in Romania together with the Canadian Vasek Pospisil. In early 2010 won Copil in Guatemala with Ivan Endara another tournament.
