Mark Crossley

Mark Geoffrey Crossley ( born June 16, 1969 in Barnsley, England) is a Welsh footballer who is currently active as a player-coach at FC Chesterfield.

Nottingham Forest

After Mark Crossley had in 1987 started his professional career at Nottingham Forest, he was able to prevail for the season 1990/91 as a goalkeeper. The former goalkeeper Steve Sutton then moved in 1992 to Derby County. In his first season reached Crossley with his team the final of the FA Cup. On May 18, 1991 Forest lost, however, in front of 80,000 spectators at Wembley with 1:2 against Tottenham Hotspur to Paul Gascoigne and Gary Lineker. Time in Middlesbrough was little happy for Mark Crossley. He rarely came into play and was awarded in 2003 for a few months at Stoke City. Even after his return, he was able to fight for a regular place and then moved up after just 23 league games in 3 years for Fulham FC.

Fulham

In London, it ran the first two seasons is not good for the now 34 -year-old. The number 1 in these two years was the Dutch world-class goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar and after its move to Manchester United before the season 2005/ 06 Crossley managed the leap into the goal. Oldham Athletic

In the 2007 /08 season Crossley scored in the Football League One on his longtime former club Nottingham Forest, who were now relegated to the third division. While Forest ascended as a table runner-up in the Football League Championship, Oldham missed as a table of eight to climb. After a tenth place in the 2008 /09 season he joined in the summer of 2009 as player-coach for FC Chesterfield.

National

After three matches for the English U -21 selection, Mark Crossley decided to play for the Welsh national team. He completed at least eight matches, but remained behind goalkeeper Neville Southall.
