Marko Banić

Marko Banić ( born August 31, 1984 in Zadar) is a Croatian professional basketball player. The 2.04 m wide power forward for seven years for the Spanish club CB Bilbao Berri active before he moved to Russia to UNICS Kazan, 2012.

Banić began his career with the resident in his hometown KK Zadar. With this club he won the 2003 title in the Adriatic Basketball Association. 2005 moved to Spain to Banić CB Girona, but was loaned to CB Bilbao Berri, where he remained for seven years, eventually. His biggest international success with Bilbao were reaching the Final Four in the Eurocup 2008/ 09 and 2009/10 and the quarter-finals in the Euro League 2011 /12. He was elected in 2009 and 2010 team to the All- Eurocup First and 2010 were also named MVP of the competition.

With the Croatian national team Banić participated at the European Championships in 2007 and 2009 and the 2008 Olympic Games in part. Also for the 2010 World Cup, he was nominated.
