Martha Genenger

Martha Genenger ( born November 11, 1911 in Krefeld, † August 1, 1995 in Moers ) was a German swimmer.

At the European Championships in 1934 in Magdeburg she became European champion in the 200 m breaststroke. At the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, from Krefeld won over the same distance behind Hideko Maehata nor the silver medal. She put on two world records and nine German records and was three times German Champion. She was coached by her stepfather. In 1936 Genenger later married and had two daughters. She lived until her death in chapels where they 1967, the swimming section of the TV chapels founded in 1919.
