Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart ( born August 3, 1941 as Martha Helen Kostyra in Jersey City, New Jersey ) is an American television personality and editor. She is of Polish descent. She was known for her projects in areas such as cooking, laundry, gardening, etiquette and crafts as well as craft activities. It is often referred to as " America's best housewife " even though they had already serving a prison sentence for various offenses.
Youth
Martha Stewart came as a child of Edward Kostyra (1911-1979) and Harriet Martha Ruszowska (1914-2007) to the world, who had emigrated because of the Second World War from Poland. Then she grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, along with four brothers and five sisters and, after her college stay a partial scholarship at Barnard College in New York, while they financed their living by working as a model. Martha earned a bachelor's degree in art, European history and architectural history.
After that, she appeared in several television commercials to earn some extra money until they married and in 1965 a Law Student on September 27, 1965, a daughter brought to the world. Both were divorced in 1990, the same day as Martha Stewart published a book about weddings. After modeling, she began a career as Aktienbrokerin and worked in this profession until 1973, when the Wall Street slid into a recession. Then she wrote in newspapers columns on cooking, gardening and home furniture.
Rise
Stewart rose to national prominence by occurred at regular intervals in the "Today Show" ( a show about home and leisure and news ) on NBC. It was in 1987 the retail chain company spokeswoman K -Mart and published in 1997 her first of nine exclusive product lines.
In the 80 years she was an editor of the newspaper Family Circle ( " family " ), and in 1990 she launched her own magazine magazine " Martha Stewart Living " and then in 1993 a standard broadcast program under the same name. She brought out a collection under the name " Martha Stewart everyday collection", hosted on the television Food Network the program " In Martha's Kitchen " and the garden show " In Martha's Garden " on Home and Gardening Television ( HGTV ).
In 1999, she founded her own company " Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia ," which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange. As CEO owns 61 percent of the company and 94 percent of the voting rights. Meanwhile, Stewart has also high-rise buildings in Connecticut and in the " Hamptons " in New York. Indictment and case
2002 Stewart was first suspected to have sold thousands of shares of pharmaceutical company ImClone Systems taking advantage of insider knowledge.
The following year, she and her former broker of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) have been accused of several violations of the law. Stewart then joined as CEO of her company back, and also their broadcasts on CBS and UPN were hired.
In 2004, Stewart was sentenced to five months in prison and five months of house arrest for perjury with respect to their share sales as well as for conspiracy and obstruction of justice. It was housed in the Alderson Federal Prison Camp in Alderson, West Virginia. They also had to pay $ 30,000 fine, and she was imposed a two-year prohibition.

The Apprentice
2005 Stewart hosted a spin-off series The Apprentice called The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, in which they sought a high-level employees for their companies.
