Martial Valin

Martial Henri Valin, short Martial Valin ( born May 14, 1898 in Limoges, † 19 September 1980 in Neuilly -sur- Seine) was a general of the French Air Force and commander of the air forces of France libre 1941-44.

Martial Valin began his military career in World War I at the dragoons. In 1917, he earned a Ausbldungsplatz in the Military Academy of Saint- Cyr. In the interwar period he graduated from the cavalry and armored school of Saumur, took part in the Rifkrieg 1925, but chose 1926, the modern branch of the Air Force.

As a member of the French military mission in Rio de Janeiro valine joined the France libre, but reached England in 1941, where he assumed the position of Vice Admiral Muselier, who had begun the Forces françaises libres aériennes build.

From 1946 valine served as head of the French military delegation to the UN. 1947 to 1957 he was Inspector General of the French Air Force.
