Martin Lojek

Martin Lojek ( born August 19, 1985 in Brno, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who is under contract with HC Ocelari Třinec in the Extraliga since 2008.

Career

Martin Lojek began his career as a hockey player in the junior section of the HC Pardubice, where he was active until 2002. He then played three years with the Brampton Battalion of the Canadian Junior Football League Ontario Hockey League. During this period, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2003 in the fourth round as a total of 105 players from the Florida Panthers. From 2005 to 2008 the defender was, however, only in five games for the Panthers in the National Hockey League on the ice as he spent the rest of the time at their farm teams Florida Everblades from the ECHL and Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

For the 2008/09 season Lojek returned to his Czech homeland, where he received a contract with HC Ocelari Třinec from the Extraliga. His first season after his return he finished also as Players out on loan at his former club HC Pardubice. In the 2010/11 season he won the Czech league titles with the HC Ocelari Třinec.

Internationally

For Lojek Czech Republic took part in the junior level at the U20 World Junior Championship in 2005. In 2011 he was senior level in the squad of his country at the Euro Hockey Tour.
