Mary Nash

Mary Nash ( born August 15, 1884 in Troy, New York, † December 3, 1976 in Brentwood, California ) was an American actress.

Life and career

Mary Nash was born as the daughter of the lawyer James H. Ryan, four years after her sister Florence came into the world, the writer was later. After his father's death the mother married the theater manager Philip F. Nash. Mary changed her last name Ryan at the start of her acting career in Nash to, because at that time there was a popular actress named Mary Ryan. They first went to a convent school in Montreal and later the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. After a stay at London theaters, she gave her Broadway debut in 1905, where she appeared regularly until 1932 and had some success.
