Matt & Kim are an American indie pop duo from Brooklyn, New York.

History

Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino had met in 2004 while studying at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. Before the two began making music together, Matt had played bass in a punk band. Kim made ​​in their schooling first musical experience with the clarinet. Until then, Matt Johnson could still play no keyboard. Even Kim Schifino was not familiar with the drums. A few months after they had learned their respective instruments, they were persuaded by friends to give her first concert. As " Matthew and Kimberley " Johnson and Schifino completed their first live appearance in October 2004.

After an inconsiderable change of name took it the following year every available opportunity in Brooklyn to play live. The energetic performance earned the band a lot of attention.
