Maybrit Illner

Maybrit Illner, born Klose ( born January 12, 1965 in Berlin ) is a German journalist, television presenter and author.

Life

Illner studied after high school at the Friedrich- Engels - secondary school (now Andrew's Upper School ) in East Berlin's Friedrichshain district from 1984 to 1988 at the Karl Marx University in Leipzig, Department of Journalism. Subsequently, she worked as a sports journalist for the television of the GDR. In 1989, she joined the foreign desk of the German Television. In the same year, she withdrew from the SED, which she had in 1986, while she was still studying, connected. Then Illner moderated until the dissolution of the German Television in late 1991, the program series riviera - the Travel Journal and Evening Journal.

As political editor of the ZDF they belonged from 1992 to the moderators of the ZDF morning show whose line they took over in 1998. Occasionally she represented Ulrich Kienzle news magazine frontal. It supports the association " Show Your Face! For a cosmopolitan Germany eV ", the nationwide campaigns against xenophobia, racism, anti-Semitism and right-wing violence.
