Medication (band)
Medication was initially under the name Pale Demons from 1999 active American alternative band from Los Angeles, California. The known all from other bands and projects such as Life of Agony, Machine Head, Soulfly or Ugly Kid Joe members published under the name Medication an EP and an album before the constantly in motion musicians constellation in 2003 announced its final resolution.
Band History
Logan Mader founded in 1999, initially under the name Pale Demons, a new band after he had to go with Machine Head and also his stint with Soulfly as had proved short-lived. For the first lineup of the band included, in addition to the previously Mader playing with Suicidal Tendencies bassist Robert Trujillo and Mader of his time with Soulfly drummer Roy Mayorga known. With singer Whitfield Crane, who celebrated the early 1990s great successes with Ugly Kid Joe and had previously been Life -of- Agony frontman directly for two years, Mader shared a friendship since their first meeting at the Ozzfest in 1998.
In mid-2000 the company was renamed Medication, Trujillo joining Ozzy Osbourne and was replaced in 2001 by Kyle Sanders (formerly at Skrew ) as second guitarist Blunt also rose by a Adayinthelife. Medication received in early 2002 after various demo recordings as the first U.S. band a record deal with Locomotive Music. About this label appeared shortly after a self-titled debut EP. In the summer of the same year came the album Prince Valium, on which Josh Freese (including A Perfect Circle, Vandals ) was heard on drums after Mayorga had left the band to return to Soulfly.
Shannon Larkin of Godsmack played for a short time the drums at Medication before temporarily Jason Loree took over the vacant drums items in the following U.S. concerts with American Head Charge and Coal Chamber, later joined Chris Hamilton ( Crowbar, Downset ) Medication solid at and played the concerts during the first tour of the band through Europe.
Medication broke up finally after weak sales of Prince Valium, losing their record deal with Locomotive Music in their home country and following a short canceled second European tour with Before the Dawn in February 2003.
Style and reception
