Roy Mayorga

Roy Moreira " Maurice" Mayorga Santos ( born April 6, 1970 in New York City, New York) is an American drummer.

Mayorga was active in the late 1980s to the mid- 1990s in various bands like Shelter, nausea or Crisis. On the first Soulfly album of 1998, he can be heard as a drummer. As of 1999, Mayorga was for two years part of Medication (formerly Pale Demons ) and played briefly in 2000 for the band Ozzy Osbourne, before joining in indictments in 2001 and 2002 again temporarily returned to Soulfly. The band was founded in 2002 Mothra, which was renamed in 2003 and Abloom came up with former members of OneSideZero, Amen and Snot, Mayorga played a demo. Mayorga was in 2005, despite his protestations to give this band priority over all other activities, but again his exit known.

The project Roadrunner United Mayorga was involved in three songs under the direction of Dino Cazares 2005. 2006 played Mayorga helping out for Sepultura during a European tour after their long-time drummer got out. In the same year he joined Stone Sour as a permanent member. In 2008 the reunited Amebix Mayorga is replacement for the ill with tinnitus founding member.

Mayorga is still active as a music producer and sound engineer and writes film music. Mayorga is an endorser of Sabian Drum Workshop and, earlier, he cooperated with Zildjian.
