Tony Campos

Tony Campos ( born March 8, 1973 in Los Angeles, California) is an American bassist of Mexican descent. He became known by the music groups Static-X, Asesino, Ministry, Prong and Soulfly.

Life

Before Campos musician was, he worked as a shepherd. In 1994, the Mexican American member of the band Static-X, where he also sang in the background and amplified alongside frontman Wayne Static to 2010 was the only constant member of the band. In 2002 he founded with Fear Factory guitarist Dino Cazares, and the later Possessed drummer Emilio Marquez, the Death Grind band Asesino ( in German: assassin ). He operates under the name Maldito X as a lead singer. The band writes mainly texts in Spanish.

2007 rose Campos for the late bassist Paul Raven temporarily until its dissolution in 2008 in a Ministry. Since 2009, Campos has worked in the groove metal band Prong. Again he took the place of Raven. He left in early 2010 after 16 years for unknown reasons Static-X. 2011 Tony Campos was also bassist for Soulfly. In the same year the reunion of Ministry took place, where Campos was again active, and was involved in the comeback album Relapse. In early 2012 he left the band, however, again.
