Mervan Çelik
Mervan Çelik (born 26 May 1990 in Gothenburg ) is a Swedish- Turkish footballer who currently stands at Gençlerbirliği Ankara under contract. He has next to Swedish and Turkish nationality, and thus assigned at Gençlerbirliği no foreigner quota.
Career
Çelik was born in 1990 in Gothenburg district Biskopsgården. His parents are originally from Turkey Kurds. He began playing football at the Gothenburg club IF Warta. From there he moved within the city in the youth department of the BK Hacken, for its youth teams, he ran aground until early 2007. Then he moved to local rivals GAIS on. Here he first played in the youth team of the club, but also came from summer time to time on the second team of the club.
Before the 2008 Çelik enlisted as a young player on the squad of antretenden in Allsvenskan competition team GAIS. After he had often come in the pre-season games for use, he graduated from the first half of the season again in the reserve team. In July 2008, he made his debut as a substitute for Jóhann Guðmundsson Birnir in a 1-1 draw away at GIF Sundsvall in the highest Swedish league. As a result, he was irregular in Allsvenskan used, however, had played in the cadre of U-18 national team. After two seasons as a reserve player him the breakthrough came in the 2010 adult football. Coach Alexander Axén put him in 26 of the 30 season games, with three goals this season, he contributed to the achievement of the class obtaining on the last non-relegation place at. After good results at the start of the following season, in which he scored goals regularly, he came to the fore of the U- 21 team coach Tommy Söderberg and Håkan Ericson. Making its debut on June 2, 2011, he scored in a 4-1 away win over Norway two goals.
In January 2012 he signed a contract with the Rangers, he broke up again in March because of the financial problems of the Rangers. Then he returned to GAIS, where he signed a contract until the end of the year. In July 2012, he left again and moved to GAIS Delfino Pescara 1936.
For Summer 2013, he joined the Turkish Süper Lig club Gençlerbirliği the capital Ankara.
