Messier 90

Messier 90 (also known as NGC 4569 ) is a 9.4 like bright spiral galaxy with a surface area of 10.2 '× 4.6 ' in the constellation Virgo.

Messier 90 is a galaxy of type Sab in the Hubble sequence, but seems to be quite old for a galaxy of this type. The galaxy shows no signs of star formation regions, and it is therefore considered that the galaxy will evolve into a lenticular system without spiral arms of type S0.

Discovery

The galaxy Messier 90 was discovered on 18 March 1781 by the French astronomer Charles Messier.
