Metti, una sera a cena

Metti, una sera a cena is a film drama in 1969, the director Giuseppe Patroni Griffi and directed by his eponymous play. The cast includes, among others, Florinda Bolkan, Tony Musante, Jean -Louis Trintignant, Annie Girardot and Lino Capolicchio. The film was presented at the 22nd Cannes Film Festival.

Content

In the film, the table is playing to meet the four people in the cultured middle class, the central role. These include Michele, Nina, Max and Giovanna Michele is a successful author and verheirat with Nina. Giovanna is wealthy and a friend of Nina. Max is an actor. Nina and Max are having an affair, which should be known Michele. Meanwhile, Giovanna is in love with Michele. The evenings and discussions in this round have a rather boring and amoral atmosphere until Max Nina submitted a proposal to the " distraction " by Ric. He is a young rebellious student who prostitutes herself. Ric however falls in love with Nina and tries to commit suicide. Nina rescues him and decides to spend her life with him. The relationship, however, does not work, and shortly thereafter Ric Nina brings back to Michele. Michele decides Ric included in the Table Round, so he does not lose his wife Nina. The game starts again from the beginning.

Background

Metti, una sera a cena was originally conceived as a theater piece that Patroni Griffi the first staged at times Eliseo theater in Rome in 1967. It was performed for two years. The first version introduced the director Giorgion De Lullo. The performers were Romolo Valli, Rossella Falk, Elsa Albani, Giuffré Carlo and Umberto Orsini, who played the role of Ric.

The cost of production of this film were low. A very important role for its success played the soundtrack, composed by Ennio Morricone.
