Mézy-sur-Seine

Mézy -sur -Seine is a commune with 1964 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) in the Yvelines department in the Île- de -France region. Parts of the municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park Vexin français.

Geography

Mézy -sur -Seine is located in northern France in the landscape Vexin français on the Seine, 36 kilometers north- west of Paris, about 14 kilometers northwest of Mantes- la -Jolie, the seat of sub-prefecture of the arrondissements, and 1.9 kilometers southwest of Meulan, the capital of the canton and the municipal Association of Vexin -Seine on an average height of 86 meters above sea level. History

In the 10th century a fortified structure was built in Mézy that should protect Meulan. By the 13th century Mézy was a fief of the Vicomte de Meulan. Then there was a village with its own church.
