Miami-Dade Expressway Authority

The Miami -Dade Expressway Authority ( MDX) is a company incorporated in December 1994 authority of the U.S. state of Florida. Since 1997, operates and maintains five expressways them in Miami -Dade County that were previously owned by the Florida Department of Transportation ( FDOT ).

  • Dolphin Expressway ( SR 836)
  • Don Shula Expressway ( SR 874)
  • Snapper Creek Expressway ( SR 878 )

As to the maintenance of the roads and also around the authority of the five transport are collected over the entire length, or individual sections of tolls to everyone. Since 2010, this is done in three of the five roads purely electronically through the SunPass toll system. Vehicles without transponders are recorded for billing on the license plate. By the end of 2013, all roads will be converted to this method.
