Michael Bell (Irish politician)

Michael Bell ( * October 1, 1936, † 20 May, 2011 Dublin) was an Irish politician of the Irish Labour Party from 1982 to 2002 and sat in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Irish Parliament.

In November 1982 Bell was first elected in the constituency of Louth for the Irish Labour Party in the Dáil Éireann. In the following elections he could, until 2002, to defend his seat always. During his time as an MP, he was also active in local politics. He was a member of the Louth County Council and Drogheda Corporation and was from 1984 to 1985 Mayor of Drogheda. In 1993 he was a member of the Euro Europe.

Prior to his time as a politician Bell was a professional union activities. He was married and had four children, one son and three daughters.
