Michael J. Fitzgerald (bishop)

Michael Joseph Fitzgerald ( * May 23, 1948 in Montclair ) is Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia.

Life

The archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal John Joseph Krol, ordained him a priest on 17 May 1980.

Pope Benedict XVI. appointed him on 22 June 2010 as Titular Bishop of Tamallula and Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia. The archbishop of Philadelphia, Cardinal Justin Francis Rigali, donated to it on 6 August of the same year along with John Joseph McIntyre episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were John Patrick Cardinal Foley, Cardinal Grand Master of the Equestrian Order of the Holy grave in Jerusalem, and Joseph Robert Cistone, Bishop of Saginaw.
