Michael S. Hopkins

Michael Scott Hopkins ( born December 28, 1968 in Lebanon, Missouri, United States) is a colonel in the U.S. Air Force and a NASA astronaut. Hopkins was selected in June 2009 as a member of the 20th NASA group. He was a flight engineer of ISS Expeditions 37 and 38

Training

Michael Scott Hopkins was born in Lebanon, Missouri, and grew up on a farm in Richland, Missouri also on. After graduating from the School of the Osage High School in 1987 in Lake of the Ozarks, he went to the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. He graduated with a Master of Science degree in aeronautical engineering in 1992 from Stanford University.

Spaceman activity

Hopkins has been selected by NASA and the U.S. Air Force as an astronaut for a workout at the Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas. He started on September 25, 2013 Soyuz TMA -10M to the ISS. There he worked for the ISS Expeditions 37 and 38 as a flight engineer. The landing took place on 11 March 2014.

Private

Hopkins is married and has two sons. His hobbies include backpacking, camping, skiing, weight lifting, jogging, hockey and football.
