Mičovice

Mičovice ( German Mitschowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 13 kilometers south-east of Prachatice and belongs to Okres Prachatice.

Geography

Mičovice is located in the Valley of the Melhutka in the eastern foothills of the Bohemian Forest. To the northeast, the Stráže collected ( 742 m), in the northwest of Zeleny vrch (805 m) and in the southwest of Klenovec ( 839 m).

Neighboring towns are Ratiborova Lhota and Třebanice in the north, Lhenice in the northeast, Vodice to the east, and Vadkov Borovka the southeast, Jáma in the south, southwest, and Klenovice Chroboly in the west.

History

Mičovice was founded in the first half of the 14th century in the possession of the monastery Sancta Corona. Was first documented the village in 1400. Residents of the town lived from agriculture, forestry work or participated craftsmanship.

1886 was the village school, it was closed in 1985. On 28 June 2007 the municipality received from the Parliament of the municipal coat of arms confirmed.

The municipality consists of the villages Mičovice Frantoly ( Frauenthal ), Jama ( Grub ), Klenovice ( Klenowitz ) Mičovice ( Mitschowitz ) and Ratiborova Lhota (flour huts).
