Midland Mainline

Midland Mainline was a British railway company owned by the National Express Group and operating primarily in passenger transport by Midland Main Line, one of the main routes in north-south direction.

History

The company was created after the privatization of British Rail in 1996. Upon expiry of the concession in November 2007, the Midland Mainline part of the East Midlands franchise was. As winner of the tender, the Scottish Stagecoach emerged which already operates South West Trains. The successor company is East Midlands Trains.

Route network

The company operated intercity and regional trains between London and Yorkshire and used it to St Pancras Station as the southern endpoint. Last kept the trains there, due to the extensive renovation work to toughen up the station as the terminus of the High Speed ​​1, at makeshift platforms.
