Mike Adamle
Michael David "Mike" Adamle ( born October 4, 1949 in Euclid, Ohio) is an American sports journalist and former American football player. He has for several years hosted the television series American Gladiators. From January to November 2008, Adamle was employed as a backstage interviewer, ring commentator and general manager at the biggest wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment.
Private
Mike Adamle grew up in Kent, Ohio, and became in 1967 the university entrance on the Theodore Roosevelt High School. He then studied at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He was inducted into the Kent City Schools Hall of Fame in 1999.
Adamle suffers from epilepsy, which he concealed at first, but later openly dealt with it. For his work with the Epilepsy Foundation, where he is currently still active as a member, he received in 2007 the " Richard N. Rovner Awards Dinner " the "Personal Achievement Award" from the Epilepsy Foundation.
National Football League
Mike Adamle played in the years 1971 to 1977 as a running back in the NFL for the clubs Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and Chicago Bears.
Sports journalist
Adamle has been operating for over 30 years in American sports television. From 1977 to 1983 he worked at the sports channel NBC Sports, where he worked both as a studio commentator, as well as outdoor reporter at various events, including three Super Bowls. From 1983 to 1989 he was finally employed as a sports reporter at ABC 7 Chicago.
American Gladiators
Between 1989 and 1994 worked Adamle for ABC Sports and was also co-host of the American cult television show American Gladiators. He was once also participants in a sequence with known personalities, which aired towards the end of last season. He was also a co-commentator of the offshoot " International Gladiators".
After American Gladiators ended, he worked as a reporter for ESPN2 and NBC 5 Chicago operates.
Other
Adamle and a colleague, the NBC sportscaster Fred Roggin, sideline reporter for the single season, which organized by the WWF XFL Football League were in 2001. He has also worked as a commentator at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000 and 2004.
In July 2006, Mike Adamle was the rapporteur at the Built Ford Tough Series bull riding the international organization " Professional Bull Riders" (PBR ).
World Wrestling Entertainment
January 25, 2008 Mike Adamle made his debut for the WWE as an interviewer at the Royal Rumble in 2008, which was held at Madison Square Garden. Then you put him in the same role in RAW until he was at the wrestling show ECW co- commentator alongside Tazz Ring on 15 April 2008 and replaced Joey Styles. Many noticed that Adamle constantly made mistakes during his tenure in ECW. Paul Heyman, former ECW owner, and former wrestler Lance Storm, publicly criticized him.
On July 28, 2008 announced Shane McMahon, the son of the owner of WWE that Adamle the new General Manager of RAW from now on be. With RAW November 3, 2008 Adamle announced his resignation as general manager. Then he asked for his contract termination and left the WWE.
