Mikko Strömberg

Mikko Strömberg ( born March 5, 1979 in Helsinki) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who is under contract with HC Val Pusteria in the Italian Serie A1 since January 2011.

Career

Mikko Strömberg began his career in the youth department of the Finnish team HIFK Helsinki, where he several seasons guarded the gate of the U18 and U20 team. In the 2000 /01 season, he came to the first missions in the second Finnish League for Ahmat Hyvinkää before he stood in the following season for his youth club HIFK, Haukat Järvenpää and again Ahmat Hyvinkää between the posts.

In the summer of 2002, Strömberg decided to Sweden to change and there wrote a contract with Kiruna IF from the HockeyAllsvenskan. That same winter, he returned to his home and came at Kiekko -Vantaa to seven inserts. From 2003 to 2005 he played for the Finnish second division Jukurit Mikkeli, where he was able to convince both years in full line. In 2005 he managed to jump into the highest league in Finland, where he was active for two seasons with Jokerit Lappeenranta.

The 2007/08 season began Strömberg at Kärpät Oulu, before joining for the crucial phase of the championship for the HC Innsbruck Austria. Also the following winter he began HPK Hämeenlinna in Finland before he in turn signed a contract in Innsbruck. Between 2009 and 2011 he stood by Jokerit Helsinki under contract and was used in 2010 in ten games at Kiekko - Vantaa. In early 2011 received Strömberg a contract with HC Val Pusteria from the Italian Serie A1, which was eventually extended after a convincing performance for the season 2011 /12.
