History

Mügwitz was first mentioned in 1337 as Migwitz. Other spellings were Mikowicz ( 1361 ) and Mekewicz (1368 ). It was one of the first to the Glatzer country with which it shared the story of his political and religious affiliation. It was in the earlier period of several components.

  • A share with a Vorwerk and ten gardeners belonged to Glatzer Hospital.
  • Another portion consisted of three farmers who belonged to the Augustinian Glatzer pen from which it was transferred in 1597 to the Jesuits.
  • The third fraction, which included also three farmers was in 1342 in possession of Mathes of Pannwitz, 1499 Glatzer the Governor of Hanns Pannwitz on Rengersdorf and 1540 the Ludwig von Pannwitz on Albendorf. His son Heinrich von Pannwitz sold this share in 1563 of the Adam Tschischwitz ( hissing joke) on Gabersdorf. His son Joachim sold it in 1603 to the George Donig of Zdanitz to low stones and sticks and Ebersdorf. He sold this portion of Mügwitz 1615 's David Logau. Because of their participation in the Bohemian uprising his goods were confiscated by the emperor in 1625 and in 1628 transferred to the Carl von Strasolde instead of a liability claim. This gave by way of exchange of the three Mügwitzer farmers Glatzer the Jesuits, which already included the three farmers who had originally owned by the Augustinian Glatzer pin.
  • A portion consisted only of a Kretscham with beer. This sold Carl von Strasolde 1629 the Johann Angelo of Morgante on Volpersdorf that the Georg von Groneberg sold it along with other possessions in 1637. This linked the Kretscham with his Oberschwedeldorfer Engelgut. Both were feudal possession, 1638 by Emperor Ferdinand III. was put into the site. 1640 sold Georg von Groneberg his property, including Mügwitzer Kretschams the imperial colonel Wolfgang Ferdinand von Fitsch who joined the Kretscham with the rule Koritau that was already in his possession. After the village Mügwitz with the exception of the Hospital share was owned by the Jesuits in 1628, the beer since 1684 was probably from the Jesuit brewery in Niederschwedeldorf.

After the Silesian Wars Mügwitz came together with the county of Glatz in 1763 with the Peace of Hubertusburg to Prussia. 1787 took over the Prussian state with the entire Jesuit estates also Mügwitzer Stiftsgut and sold it to the Prussian minister Friedrich Wilhelm von Reden on Niederschwedeldorf.

For 1795 are shown: A, Vorwerk, seven farmers, gardeners and a ten Kretscham with the law of Beer Ausschanks.

After the reorganization of Prussia Mügwitz belonged since 1815 to the province of Silesia and was from 1816 to 1945 the county Glatz incorporated. As an independent country parish it belonged to the district of Koritau. 1939 120 inhabitants were counted. As a result of World War II Mügwitz fell in 1945 as almost all of Silesia to Poland and was renamed Mikowice. The German population was expelled. The new inhabitants were partly displaced persons from eastern Poland. 1975-1998 belonged to Mikowice Voivodeship Wałbrzych.
