Military Ordinariate of Portugal

Portuguese Military Ordinariate (Portuguese: the Diocese forcas Armadas de Segurança e ) is the Military Ordinariate in Portugal and in charge of the Portuguese armed forces.

History

Portuguese Military Ordinariate supervised members of the Portuguese Armed Forces Catholic religious affiliation pastoral. It was Pope Paul VI. created as a military vicariate on 29 May 1966. After a mutual decision between the Holy See and the Portuguese Republic, the seat of the Portuguese Military Ordinariate in Lisbon. It was elevated to a diocese by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution spirituality Soldiers curae on July 21, 1986.
