Millencolin

Millencolin is a punk rock band that was formed in October 1992 by Erik Ohlsson, Mathias and Nikola Sarcevic in Örebro Färm (Sweden).

History

Fredrik Larzon joined the band in early 1993 and was the successor of the current guitarist Mathias Färm on drums. All four members began around 1987 with the skateboarding, which they won favor of bands like Operation Ivy or Descendents. Your name is derived from the skate trick and word melancholy.

Their first demo tape called Goofy and contained 10 songs. Then their second demo tape was recorded in summer 1993, which was Melack. With this, they competed at the label Burning Heart Records, in which they are to this day. After they released two mini albums there, she released her first album Tiny Tunes ( 1994), which was renamed after a lawsuit filed by Warner Bros. in Same Old Tunes and the cover been changed.

A year later appeared Life on a Plate, which reached number 14 in Sweden and made ​​them internationally known. He took the band under contract, and Life on a Plate appeared in the U.S. in March 1996. For Monkeys, the third album, appeared in 1997. The title should first Four Monkeys hot, but was changed at the record company.
