Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Denmark)

The Danish Ministry of Research bears since February 3, 2014 the official title for Training and Research Ministry ( Uddannelses -og Forskningsministeriet ). It is one of 19 ministries of the Danish Government and is located in the Slotsholmsgade 10 in the center of Copenhagen. His tasks include on the one hand, to secure the cooperation of enterprises and university research and training; coordinate for the second economic and innovation policy of the government and thirdly to carry out the supervision of the Assistant institutions, as there would be universities, business schools, research centers and the Danish foreign institutions.

History

The ministry was founded on taking office the Government Poul Nyrup Rasmussen in January 1993 as a research and technology ministry ( Forsknings -og Teknologiministeriet ). As early as 1994 the name was shortened to Research Ministry. In 2000 it was renamed the Ministry of Information Technology and Research ( IT -og Forskningsministeriet ). Followed in 2001 as the Ministry of Science, Technology and Development ( Ministeriet for Videnskab, Teknologi og Udvikling ).

The remit was expanded in 2001 to universities, private research, and technology and innovation policy. 2011 were added higher education in the field of art and seafaring.

Structure

The Ministry of Research are placed under two authorities:

  • Authority for Research and Innovation ( Styrelsen for Forskning og Innovation, FI )
  • Authority for Higher Education ( Styrelsen for Videregående Uddannelser )

The Ministry is working with various boards and committees, including with the Research Policy Council, the Council for Technology and Innovation, the Council for Free Research, the Council for Strategic Research, the Research Coordination Committee.
