Minnesota State Highway 65

Minnesota State Highway 65 is a state highway in Minnesota. This road is one of three State Routes in Minnesota, which is assigned the same number, which has a U.S. Highway within Minnesota. ( The other two are Route 61 and Route 169).

The length of this road is 273 miles.

Minnesota Highway 65 begins at Washington Avenue ( Hennepin County Road 152) on the northern edge of the center of Minneapolis and leads north to U.S. Highway 71 in Littlefork ( just south of International Falls ).

Part of this route was originally part of U.S. Highway 65 This highway still runs from Iowa to Minnesota forth in, but now ends in Albert Lea where it connects with Interstate 35. I-35 and I- 35W follow roughly the same route as U.S. 65 originally led to Minneapolis. Before the freeways were built, was U.S. 65 between Burnsville and Minneapolis along the Lyndale Avenue.

In July 2005, a small portion of Minnesota Highway 65 was in the center of Minneapolis back dedicated to the city administration ( between Washington Avenue and Interstate 35W ). The southern end is now located at the intersection of Third Avenue South and Washington Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.

Highway 65 is signposted in the center of Minneapolis as 3rd Avenue South and leading to the Third Avenue Bridge. After crossing the river, the name will change to Central Avenue and after the intersection with SE University Avenue into Central Avenue NE. The road retains this name until the division in Ham Lake, except for a split in Fridley and Spring Lake Park between Interstate 694 and U.S. Highway 10

Minnesota Highway 65 between I- 694 and north of Cambridge a four-lane expressway. From there to the end, in the north of the state the road is two lanes.
