Minuscule 73

Minuscule 73 ( in the Gregory- Aland numbering ), ε 260 ( von Soden ), is a Greek Minuskelhandschrift of the New Testament on 291 parchment leaves ( 25.1 × 20.7 cm). Using palaeography was dated the manuscript to the 12th century. The manuscript is complete.

Description

The manuscript contains the text of the four Gospels. He has written one column each with 23 rows. It contains the Eusebischen tables, lists of κεφαλαια, κεφαλαια, τιτλοι, Ammonianische sections (Matthew 341, Mark? , Luke 349, John 229), the Eusebischen canon, lectionary markings and images.

Text

The Greek text of this codex is a representative of the Byzantine text-type. Kurt Aland placed it in Category V. He belonged to the family of texts Kx.

History

The manuscript came 1724 by Konstantin Opel to England and belonged to the Archbishop of Canterbury, William Wake ( 1657-1737 ), together with the Minuskelhandschriften 74 and 506-520. Wake gave the manuscript to the Christ Church College in Oxford. The manuscript was examined by Richard Bentley. Caspar René Gregory them collated in 1883.

The Code is currently in the Christ Church College under the signature Wake 26 in Oxford.
