Miró III of Cerdanya

Miró Bonfill, in dynastic continuity Miró III. called († 984 ), was a Count of Besalu and Bishop of Girona Barcelona out of the house. He was the youngest of the four sons of Miró the Younger, Count of Cerdanya and Besalu, and his wife Ava. His brothers were Sunifred II, II and Wilfried Oliba cabretas.

As the youngest son Miró had taken a clerical career, but had taken the county Besalu after the death of his eldest brother. 971 he was consecrated bishop of Girona. During his tenure, he founded several religious institutions such as the church of Sant Pere in Besalu, and the consecration of the abbey of Sant Miquel de Santa Maria de Ripoll and Cuixa made. In March 981 he had taken part VII in the Lateran in Rome at the Synod chaired by Emperor Otto II and Pope Benedict and was commissioned here with the spread of the Decree on the prohibition of simony. After his death he was buried in Santa Maria de Ripoll.
