Mithat Demirel

Mithat Demirel ( born May 10, 1978 in Berlin ) is a former German national basketball player of Turkish origin. He played from 1997 to 2004 as a guard at ALBA Berlin, interrupted by two years in the Central German BC.

He began his basketball career at SSC West as a mini - player and changed as B -teenager to TuS Neukölln and later to TuS Lichterfelde.

The son of Turkish parents is relatively small with its size of 1.80 m compared to his colleagues.

After the 2004 /05 Demirel did not renew his contract further with his longtime club ALBA Berlin. In the season 2005/ 06 Demirel played in Beşiktaş Istanbul. For the following season, he moved to Galatasaray Café Crown. In January announced the Brose Baskets from Bamberg to have Demirel until end of season committed.

In preparation for the 2009/2010 season Demirel traveled with his former club Alba Berlin basketball training camp in Kranjska Gora. Officially left the club announced that the club wants to keep loose Demirel only fit to be recommended again for other basketball clubs.

Since the season 2010/2011 is Mithat Demirel sports director at ALBA Berlin as successor to Henning Harnisch.

2010 married Mithat Demirel his girlfriend Nanna Theet. 2011 was their son into the world.
