Scafati Basket

Scafati Basket is an Italian basketball club from Scafati. The club was founded in 1969 played from 2006 to 2008 in the first class Legabasket series A. In the 2012/13 season they played in the second national league Legadue.

History

1955, came together two basketball teams from Scafati to Scafatese Basket, but until 1969 the actual club Scafati Basket was founded. After they had played for years unterklassig, 1995 reached the summit in the fourth- highest division series B2 and 1998, the rise in the third- highest division series B. Two years later they won the 2000 play-offs for promotion to the next higher league Serie A2. There you reached a seventh place out of ten teams. Subsequently, the second- highest division in 2001 was dismissed as Legadue in the self-organization. There they played mostly in the upper third of the table, but failed regularly in the play-offs for promotion to the top flight, so in 2003 as a table runner and top-seeded team for the playoffs for the second promotion place. In 2006 they won the League Cup then not only this division, but also with the first place after the main round, the championship of this league and the direct ascent right in the top flight Lega Basket Serie A.

After Scafati Basket had safely reached in their first Premiership season 2006/ 07 with the tenth place in the table in the league and failed to qualify for the play- offs at the Italian Championship only a victory, followed in the second season 2007 /08 Crash the bottom of the table after the main round after you got deducted seven points by use of a not eligible player. In subsequent seasons we placed in the second division again always in the top half of the table, but remained in the play- offs with no prospect of a promotion place.
